This Friday will be the fourth edition of smarts Anything But Noise events in Nancy (France), more precisely, in Le Hublot. After a third edition pretty instrumental hip hop oriented, ABN returns with a program made by rappers of very good quality.
The active and versatile Grems (Gremsindustry / Skullcandy) comes to present what is supposed to be his last album, Vampire (released on May 13). Rapper apart from the world of french rap, whose wide musical culture and his ability to use it to enrich his style (mixing house, techno, broken beat … with hip hop) becomes him an artist very different from others, as able to rap on Chicago house, and on very oldschool, very Boom Bap beats. We let you appreciate the quality of the productions and the phrasing of this man over here, over here … and there.
Ahmad (LZO Records) comes from Montpellier (South of France) to show us his fine letter, we have already encountered it in Trueflav, supported by the 4Romain and Ripklaw. We also heard him alone in his powerful single Mon Polo.
Sobre and Jeune Karn (Banana Skin Records) will be here representing Normandy. Activists for some years, we emphasize the very good EP La XIXe Lettre (Sobre), very groove. Jeune Karn published Cockpit … We let you discover the particular atmosphere of listening to the song produced by our homie Rico Wright.
Local artists are SKVLL KAVIAR this time, we can’t wait to discover their live performance. Also Skeezup, resident DJ for some years of the Raise It Up parties.
