CxC PREMIERE: Isma – Summaq (Hypersonics)

Futuristic club & oriental heritage: Isma unveils his new EP Kelb on Hypersonics

Artist and producer Isma is set to unveil his new EP Kelb, to be released on Mexican label Hypersonics. Couvre x Chefs presents an exclusive preview of the track ‘Sumaq’, a song that perfectly illustrates the artist’s unique direction: a hybrid club sound with electronic, oriental and experimental influences.

Isma: a journey between experimentation and club culture

Based in Paris, Isma (Ismaïl Lazam) has worked on numerous projects over the years. After producing for the legendary rap group TripleGo, releasing several solo projects and composing the entire soundtrack for Julien Creuzet‘s installation for the Venice Biennale in 2022, the artist continues to explore electronic and hybrid sounds.

In 2025, he released two club-oriented EPs on Hypersonics: Club Sentimental, released in March, and Kelb, which we are discussing today. The EPs were supported by renowned producers and DJs: CRRDR, Tayhana, Ruiseñor, Kontronatura, Wawezim, Bigote, Dj Rankng, Lukrø, Entrañas, Disturbio, and many others.

Kelb: an EP between oriental heritage and futuristic club music

With Kelb, Isma offers a 3-track EP designed for the dance floor, blending bass music, techno, ghettotech, dembow, reggaeton, trance, dark club music and oriental influences. The artist injects a more personal dimension, drawn from his origins, and asserts a powerful and unique aesthetic. We are honoured to unveil the track ‘Sumaq’, available for preview on Couvre x Chefs. The track reveals the alchemy between futuristic club music and oriental heritage sought by the Parisian producer: broken darbouka rhythms, dark layers and trance synths coexist superbly.

Pre-order Kelb by Isma on Bandcamp, to be released on Hypersonics.
