Bony Fly & Lukrø present the EP Aguas Vivas, a new project born between Geneva and Mexico City, due out on Matraca
This Friday, 20 March, the Matraca label is releasing Aguas Vivas, a new original EP composed, mixed and produced by Bony Fly (Switzerland/Guatemala) and Lukrø (Peru). Created between Geneva and Mexico City between 2024 and 2025, this project explores an explosive fusion of dembow, cumbiatón and other Latin Club sounds.
The EP comprises three powerful riddims, designed for clubs and sound systems, blending urban beats with Caribbean influences:
- ‘Aguas Vivas’ – A heavy, hypnotic dembow track, designed for the dancefloor, which also marks Bony Fly’s debut as a vocalist.
- ‘Envidiosos’ – An explosive cumbiatón inspired by Mexico City and the streets of Latin America, blending cumbia groove with reggaeton energy.
- ‘Dub de Hierro’ – A slower instrumental dembow track, designed as a dub tool for DJs and those deep moments in the club.
Each track explores a different facet of contemporary Latinx rhythms, blending percussive energy with electronic textures.

This track stands out for its frenetic cumbiatón beat, which captures the raw energy of Mexico City’s neighbourhood parties and clubs. With its heavy basslines, sharp percussion and catchy melodies, ‘Envidiosos’ pays tribute to Latin American urban scenes and their musical creativity. Designed to get dancefloors moving, the track perfectly illustrates the sonic vision of Bony Fly and Lukrø: a bridge between the global underground and the rhythmic traditions of Latin America.
