Couvre x Chef went to cover the international Park(ing) Day in Nancy !
The Park(ing) Day is an international event where the possibility is left to all to turn a parking space into a place of expression time for a weekend. A nice concept, (re) creative, interesting and full of urbanity, in every sense of the word.
In Nancy, it’s our buddies the architectural Lili & Rami who have been the Park(ing) Day’s ambassadors, for three years now.
Although the 2013 edition has been moderate compared to previous editions success, we welcome the diversity and originality of the participants. In fact, it could fall as well as on a chessboard as on a large scale (which could really be used to play chess), a phagocytic wire sculpture, a giant hammock (GIANT) relaxed and friendly or a parlor game (yes, in the street ) at the initiative of Retrogaming. Awareness of environmental and eco-citizen actions were also present, with the proposals of the Cultural Center of Nancy Self, C14, or food to share Incredible Edible.
At Couvre x Chefs, we particularly liked the concept of Guerrilla Gardening presented here by C14 and which are Lili & Rummy players for quite some time. We could call it “green graffiti” : Guerrilla Gardening is the appropriation of public space and vegetation to grow where there is none. More info here.
