Bio
A Paris-based DJ, Jeune Gaou, has been a member of the Couvre x Chefs collective since 2021. Strongly influenced by the sounds inherited from the meeting of hip-hop and electronic music, Jeune Gaou began mixing with several sub-genres of the Booty Bass scene on the other side of the Atlantic. The breakneck energy of American Club Music then introduced him to the world of Bass Music. That’s how he discovered the English hardcore continuum (Drum & Bass, Jungle, Grime, 2-Step, UK Funky…).
From a position on the border between DJ and researcher, Jeune Gaou attaches a certain importance to the social and historical contexts accompanying the emergence of each musical genre he is interested in. A proud representative of the club music scene, Jeune Gaou seeks to build bridges between local scenes from all over the world (Miami Bass, Gqom, Bubbling, Batida, Coupé-décalé, Dembow, Grime, Jersey Club, etc.).
His eclectic sets, with their varied influences, have a strong emphasis on heavy bass and driving percussion. Jeune Gaou is also a resident on Rinse France, hosting his show Club Mycelium with Geoff since 2025.
