Hybrid Pulse 2: the international compilation from Sonora Destroy Records that redefines club music
Sonora Destroy Records unveils HYBRID PULSE 2, the second volume in its compilation series dedicated to the hybrid frontiers of contemporary club music. Available from 2 October 2025 in digital format and as a limited edition 12″ vinyl, this ambitious project brings together twelve visionary producers from Colombia, Venezuela, the United States, India, Australia, Portugal and the Netherlands.
The result is a veritable soundscape where mutant basslines, polyrhythmic techno, distorted breaks and futuristic club energy come together. The tracklist includes artists such as Cagua, Lucid Distraction, Frenquency, Bone Box, arni, Cacumen, Fourtwenty Sound, Paula Velez, Myledo, Bønehead, JUNЖIES and Mijok, each bringing their own unique vision of rhythm and sound design. The compilation navigates between powerful dancefloor tracks and more abstract and experimental explorations.
Available exclusively in our columns, the track ‘Blowing Off Steam’ by Frenquency perfectly illustrates the hybrid aesthetic and sonic power of this project. Known for his powerful productions, which combine futuristic club energy with experimental influences, the artist delivers an explosive piece that perfectly captures the spirit of Hybrid Pulse 2. The track stands out for its rhythmic intensity, abrasive textures and ability to create constant tension, tailor-made to set dancefloors alight while remaining deeply innovative. The visual identity of HYBRID PULSE 2 was entrusted to KAYU, whose symbolic and layered approach reflects the soundscape of the compilation. The limited-edition vinyl release also offers a unique augmented reality experience, designed by Muluc Visual Lab, transforming the record into an interactive object where sound, visual art, and digital craftsmanship come together.
Sonora Destroy Records: an independent label with hybrid DNA
Based in Bogotá and founded by Venezuelan producer Fourtwenty Sound, Sonora Destroy Records (SDR) is an independent label with roots in a multidisciplinary collective that originated in Caracas. Relaunched in 2024 as a global platform dedicated to high-energy electronic music, SDR explores a broad spectrum: jungle, techno, breaks, footwork, dub and hybrid rhythms that transcend genres and borders.
True to an experimental and decentralised approach, the label embraces a DIY and post-internet aesthetic. It connects artists from diverse underground scenes through digital and vinyl releases, audiovisual collaborations and immersive experiences. More than just a label, SDR acts as a creative hub where new sound and visual forms are invented.
The official release is scheduled for 2 October 2025, followed by an event in Bogotá on 11 October 2025, bringing together several artists featured on the compilation.
