As part of its European tour, Couvre x Chefs invites Colombian DJ, producer and live performer Bclip. At the helm of the Paria Records label and influenced by the culture of ‘picó’ (Colombian sound system), Bclip is a key artist on Latin America’s avant-garde club scene.
Bclip is a multidisciplinary producer and artist from the Soledad Atlántico ghetto on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Nurtured by the culture of picós – the region’s powerful popular sound systems – and the atmosphere of Colombian ghetto clubs with their multi-genre programming, he has forged an atypical musical identity. Rejecting traditional labels, he created the concept of ‘LA GRA$A’, a soundscape that spans salsa, reggaeton and coastal folklore, as well as black metal, IDM and hard house. This daring mix is part of the Latin American tradition of crossover, while propelling it towards new forms. His approach reflects the countercultural spirit of the ghetto: creativity born of scarcity, empirical experimentation, deep roots in musical history and a desire to break with norms. Thanks to this approach, Bclip has established himself as a leading figure in the contemporary Latin American music scene.
