For his upcoming EP on Early Reflex, Italian producer Capiuz explores the most psychedelic side of hard drum
Capiuz is an Italian producer based in the Aosta Valley region. He is about to release his new EP, The New Show, a four-track project exploring the more psychedelic side of hard drum. To be released on the Italian label Early Reflex, The New Show follows the producer’s recent appearance on OverMyBody (B E N N‘s label), and several self-releases.
The result of research work on repetition, the sound identity of this release is anchored in the accumulation of distorted samples, drum breaks, and intense kick lines, all cut and reworked by instinct. Composed without any pre-established plan, each track takes the form of a real-speed race in constant reinvention that shatters its own limits.
Before the release of the EP, Early Reflex entrusted us with the track “Catch You Back”, which can be heard today in our columns. Described by the label as a hypnotic rave tool for the end of the night, the ultra-fast track indeed promises to put any dancefloor in a trance. After an intro chanted in a mysterious language, a relentless beat intervenes without warning, accompanied by a simple hit-hat at the beginning, this one then serves as a score on which the different rhythmic layers of the track will be embroidered one by one. 3mn37 hyperintense with some rare lulls which are in fact excellent pretexts to continue to increase the pressure.
Pre-order The New Show by Capiuz on Bandcamp, official release on 5 May on Early Reflex.
