The American producer Gohda compiles a dozen of his timeless R’n’B, drill, grime, and deconstructed bangers for the launch of Never Idle Records
Gohda is a producer from Philadelphia whose work is at the crossroads of hip-hop, R’n’B, and club music, mainly UK. AKA da 445.ceo, Gohda manages 445.world, a platform, and community whose musical universe is close to his own.
After recent releases on Audio Bambino, Dawn, or Kenyon Sound, the producer is about to deliver a particular project for the first release of the label Never Idle Records. Entitled U Don’t Kno Me, the 11 tracks release has the specificity to include only tracks produced between 2015 and 2017, showing the origins of the producer. Produced when he was starting to get attention, the tracks are a balanced and clever mix of R’n’B, drill, grime, and deconstructed club. Even if some of the tracks are more than 7 years old, the whole still sounds very current. U Don’t Kno Me will be accompanied by a limited edition of 10 t-shirts featuring the artwork.
Never Idle Records is a new label founded by the British producer and DJ Ravver (relocated in Dallas). Defined as an artist-first label, Never Idle Records promises to accompany each release with quality merchandise, co-designed between the label and the artist: cassette, vinyl, mini-disc, or other unreleased pieces. On the deal side, a minimum of 85% of the revenues generated by the streaming and sales will be redistributed to the artists. Finally, the totality of the profits will be reinvested in marketing in order to push the releases even more.
Gohda’s U Don’t Kno Me is out March 9th on Never Idle Records, pre-save the release on all platforms and on Bandcamp.
