Rawa Club announces its second compilation, more than ever dedicated to forging closer links between the Latin American and Spanish club scenes
Two years after the first volume, the thundering Seville parties that have become netlabel, Rawa Club, announce the release of their second compilation.
As with Vol. 1, Compilado Vol. 2 aims to continue forging links between the Spanish and Latin American club scenes. It’s a fitting extension of the Rawa entity founded by two Latin artists relocated to the Andalusian capital, Guacha Sabelo and DJ Hidrataccioni, true activists always ready to spread the Latin American club scene on the old continent through their parties, DJ sets, and co-organised tours.
Ahead of the release of what promises to be a must-have for any DJ with a taste for ‘latincore’, ‘latin club’, you-name-it, Rawa Club has asked us to broadcast the track ‘Los Tambores de Cachila’, which you can listen to in this article. The result of an exciting collaboration between two of Argentina’s leading producers, Nafftero and Jaijiu, the track comes straight from the far south of the American continent. Inspired by Argentinian folklore, the duo behind the Rebote Discoteca label have come up with a track perfectly suited to the club, true to their emblematic signature. Nafftero and Jaijiu draw many references from the musical heritage of their homeland. Their high BPM tracks, with their playfully complex rhythmic structures, use samples of traditional genres (cachengue, cuarteto or murga) maliciously infused into their club work, which edges towards deconstructed, industrial or even noise.
