The Besançon Rhythmique Club label launches its dubplate series with a banger by 252
The relevant bastion of club music in Franche-Comté aka Besançon Rythmique Club announces the diversification of its catalogue with the BRC Dub series. The set of releases in question obviously refers to the dubplate tradition dear to the UK and Jamaican sound system culture.
The first volume of this series is signed by 252, a DJ and producer from the Grand Est, a record collector, and presented by BRC as an explorer of the reference platform Discogs. 252 hosts the W/Lbl show on z•est radio, a regular program where he and his guests play fearsome dubstep, or even UK funky selections.
Before the release of this Dub001, 252 and BRC gave us the track “Nerf Gun”, which you can listen to in this article. Originally a dubplate, the track is in the spirit of the early dubstep of producers like Coki (half of Digital Mystikz with Mala). A furious track of almost five minutes, “Nerf Gun” is “made to be played loud on sound systems”, the label told us. You have been warned!
The mastering is done by Platpower Mastering aka Foamplate.
