CxC PREMIERE: dragongirl – everything will b ok (feat. sonic girl) (Sheep Chase Records)

Scandinavian artists dragongirl and sonic girl kick off a hyperpop banger between club euphoria and digital spleen

What happens when a dragon and a fictional popstar make a club track together? The result sounds something like dragongirl – “everything will b ok” (feat. sonic girl): a euphoric and emotionally charged hyperpop banger that merges ethereal vocals with explosive, hard-hitting production. Out on April 25, the single is the second release from dragongirl’s upcoming EP dreamscape dimension, set to drop in May via Norwegian label Sheep Chase Records.

More than just a track to get lost in, “everything will b ok” is a sonic embrace — a message of friendship, community, and comfort in the most vulnerable moments. With its mix of energetic beats and soothing melodies, the song invites listeners into a realm where the dancefloor becomes a place of healing. As dragongirl (Niko Ursin) explains, ‘everything will b ok’ is about community and friendship. It’s the telepathic embrace of your best friend, her voice that echoes in your head when you’re broken on the piste, in the middle of a descent or simply alone in the crowd.

The track was born from an instrumental originally released on the Danish label katharsis as part of the Infinite Summer: Ekstase project. Touched by the harmonies, sonic girl immediately projected her world onto it: I wrote the lyrics on a cold, windy beach in Spain… It wasn’t exactly a dream holiday! The track reflects my mood, the delicate but explosive energy of dragongirl, and a big dose of Eurodance inspiration – like DJ Encore.

At its core, the track represents a blend of melancholy and euphoria, offering a message of hope and connection for those moments when we feel isolated, even in a crowd.

dragongirl (real name Niko Ursin) has been gaining significant attention across Europe with her experimental electronic sound, having performed at some of the biggest festivals in Scandinavia, such as Øyafestivalen and By:Larm in Norway. Known for her notorious DJ sets, she is a frequent guest at Copenhagen’s techno haven Den Anden Side, and has also graced Soul Feeder’s parties in Berlin. As an artist, dragongirl’s work challenges norms, hierarchies, and entrenched ideas — reflecting her deeply queer identity. Much like her music, dragongirl is constantly evolving, never quite fixed into one form, but always growing and changing.

sonic girl (Marie Damgaard Jensen) is a Danish artist blending experimental pop, melancholy, and playful irony. Her music explores the tension between fleeting digital love, the pursuit of fame, and self-discovery. Often roleplaying as a popstar or even a character from a video game, she expresses the complexities of human emotions with a wink and a smile. Sonic Girl has performed at major Danish festivals, including Roskilde Festival, and has received praise in Danish music media, with Soundvenue naming her “Denmark’s next big popstar.”

“everything will b ok” by dragongirl feat. sonic girl comes out on all platforms on 25 April.
