Lyon-based producer HI ROSIE delivers a powerful, uncompromising track on Dog’s Breakfast, the second compilation from Cane Corso Records
Following on from a pack of edits in the great SoundCloud tradition of club music, Nantes-based label Cane Corso Records has announced its second compilation: Dog’s Breakfast. It will be released on 26 April and follows on from Première Portée, released at the end of 2022.
Dog’s Breakfast, as its name doesn’t suggest, is as demanding as it gets in terms of curation. With its 13 hand-picked tracks, this second VA aims to provide an overview of the label’s aesthetic, ranging from clearly dancefloor-oriented club tracks to more adventurous sound design. The tracklisting gives a good overview of the national hybrid club scene: Ano Poli, Arnaud is Dancing, Beavs, bdstf, Dela Savelli, Future is Offline, G.Ear, Gravier du Soleil, HI ROSIE, Ika Sile, Monarch ft. Hidden65, RAVL and Zeiz.
Ahead of the release, Cane Corso Records asked us to broadcast the track ‘La Fonte’, produced by Lyon-based producer HI ROSIE. The track, which draws on hard drum and other bass music hybrids, is a real powerhouse. It comes as no surprise, then, that the samples on this track are taken from the game God of War, more specifically the sounds of the Leviathan axe belonging to the character Kratos, as the banger’s author explained to us. An icy atmosphere in stark contrast to the vocal samples taken from the summer 2007 hit, ‘Calabria’. Brilliant!
