American producer Starkey unveils Vacuum State, his new album combining Grime, Bass and Experimental Music
Philadelphia-based producer Starkey, renowned for his bold and experimental approach, will unveil his new album Vacuum State on 16 May 2025 via independent label Androids Dungeon Radio. The album will be available in digital and vinyl formats.
Vacuum State: A Bold, Immersive Exploration of Sound
With Vacuum State, Starkey — real name Paul Geissinger — continues redefining contemporary electronic music’s boundaries. The album blends his signature street bass style with cinematic, intricate electronic compositions. Featuring five meticulously crafted tracks, each piece delivers a distinct sonic journey that pushes the genre into new territory.
Ahead of the release, the label commissioned us to broadcast the track “Cannons”, which you can listen to in this article. The track stands out for its emotional power and technical precision. It perfectly embodies Starkey’s sound aesthetic: a masterful synthesis of Grime, Experimental Music and Orchestral Composition.

Starkey: A Visionary in the Electronic Music Landscape
Since 2005, Starkey has established himself as a key figure on the international Bass Music scene, with releases on Alpha Pup, Ninja Tune, Planet Mu and Keysond, among others. Known for his ability to blend Dubstep, Hip-Hop and Grime influences, he made his mark with the Open The Pod Bay Doors EP (2011).
Starkey’s original grime and bass-leaning productions can be heard throughout… but it’s his compositional talents and more delicate blemishes seeping into his beats which are really starting to make Starkey stand out.
