With his new EP to be released on INDEXLIFE, Danish producer Gavnlig further explores the rich sonic spectrum of club music
Gavnlig is the alias of Guðjón Andri, a producer, and DJ from Copenhagen. After a first EP released on INDEXLIFE in 2020, the producer is back on the Danish label with a new project pushing the boundaries of club music.
This new EP is entitled Brands Are Not Our Friends, composed of 3 tracks and will be available in full on August 20th. After a first extract – the track “Brands” – aired a few days ago on the Danish radio channel P3 DR, we are happy to unveil today a second track from the EP: “Reverse”.
Combining genres and codes of club music with particular ease, Gavnlig picks up on UK Funky and hard drum and creates his own musical palette. Maintaining a constantly moving vibe with its syncopated drums and powerful silences, “Reverse” is an invitation to dance that is impossible to resist, and it is not the Missy sample that will tell us otherwise.
Beyond the music, the EP whole EP is an invitation not to forget your values, while continuing to learn and grow. Resident on 1020 Radio (Bristol) and Bolsje Radio (Copenhagen), Gavnlig releases his third EP with Brands Are Not Our Friends. The visuals for this one are made by Alex Index.
